Sergio García: 'We wouldn't be mathematically saved, but we if manage to get those three points we'll pretty much have secured our spot

Espanyol head to Pamplona for week 30's fixture of Liga BBVA with the intention of securing a spot in next year's top league. In the words of Espanyol player Sergio García: "We wouldn't be mathematically saved, but we if manage to get those three points we'll pretty much have secured our spot. That's the intention we all have right now".

It seems as if his injuries are behind him now as he told reporters that he is in great form and going through one of the best moments of his career, especially when facing the next: "Ever since I came to Espanyol, I haven't felt the way I do now. I feel comfortable and believe the coach and fans have my back. So with that in mind, it's only normal that things are going well when I head out to play. I hope it can go on this way, but like always, it's the club who decides". Garcia also mentioned his longing of wanting to go back to the Spanish national team with which he won the 2008 Euro although he did say that his main objective is to help Espanyol avoid relegation: "It would be amazing to play for the national team again. I know it's not easy, but I would be honored. As for my club, no one is relaxing. We are motivated and going to do everything we can to help secure a spot next year; for us and for the fans".
