The Wales international says he has a "great relationship" with the current Spurs boss and hopes his manager can "get the best out of him" once again in the upcoming season
Gareth Bale has dropped his strongest hint yet that he could stay at Tottenham this summer by praising manager Andre Villas-Boas ahead of the new season. The Welsh winger’s agent had previously hinted at a potential move to Real Madrid, while Manchester United also enquired about the 24-year-old only to be stunned by Spurs’ £70m asking price.
But last season’s PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year is keen to continue working with Tottenham boss Villas-Boas, who he believes gets the best out of him on the pitch.
"We have a great relationship," Bale is quoted as saying in the Evening Standard. "Last season we had a great campaign and obviously we came up short but we had a great working relationship on and off the field.
"We chatted quite a lot about tactics and stuff like that. He definitely got the best out of me last season and hopefully can again.”
Bale scored a career-high 31 goals for club and country last term and the Tottenham hierarchy are desperate for the 24-year-old to stay at White Hart Lane.
