The forward hopes he can break into the starting XI at Barcelona this year despite fierce competition and has congratulated Thiago on his transfer
Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello has insisted he can fight with the likes of Neymar for a regular starting XI spot this season. The 21-year-old has the task of competing with the €57 million Brazilian forward, Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and more for a position in the Catalans' line-up in the coming campaign.
However, Tello is adamant that he can force his way in Tito Vilanova's reckoning and wished Thiago Alcantara the best following his transfer from Camp Nou to Bayern Munich.
"My choice and my dream is to succeed at Barca," he told reporters on Friday. "Every year is more important. I have a position in the world's squad, but I hope for more prominence with hard work.
"I want to fight for a place in the starting XI. Every year I have more experience and I like the challenge. I am prepared to deal with competition from Neymar and all the others who are very good - the competition is fierce."
The Spain Under-21 international went on to congratulate Thiago Alcantara on his recent move to Bayern Munich and urged Barca fans to accept his former team-mate's choice to leave Camp Nou.
"People should respect Thiago's decision. It's a great signing for Bayern. I congratulate him and wish him the best."
