Real Madrid is through to the Champions semi final. Pepe: 'We want to go further in the competition'

Real Madrid has made it through to the semi finals of the Champions League. Despite being beaten (3-2) by Galatasaray in Ali Sami Yen, Mourinho’s lads sail through on aggregate after a (3-0) win in Bernabeu in the first leg. Pepe was pleased with his team’s success after eliminating the Turkish team in the quarter finals: “The team fought throughout the match and put in a great effort. We’re really pleased we made it through. In the first half, we did well. We didn’t play as well in the second but at the end we picked up the slack but the most important thing is that we’re through”.

The Portuguese player, whose place in the line up was doubtful due to a slight injury he picked up against Levante, spoke about his situation: “The most important thing is that I’m fully recovered and that I was able to play last night”. The Spanish team is now one of the four best teams in Europe and this Friday will face a new opponent: “We’ll have to wait and see who we’re up against and then we’ll focus on our game. We have to stay focused. We want to go further in the competition”. Pepe praised team mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored two goals for the team against Galatasaray: “He’s incredible. He’s doing a great job, he really helped out the team and we hope he continues to do so”.
