The former Italy international has had his say on the incident in the Trofeo TIM match between Milan and Sassuolo involving Kevin Constant
Former AC Milan and Juventus striker Filippo Inzaghi feels the best way to deal with racism in stadiums is to just ignore it.Italian football has been rocked by a number of racist incidents in nature in recent years, with Milan's Kevin Constant the latest victim during the Trofeo TIM earlier this week, after his team-mates Mario Balotelli and Kevin-Prince Boateng were already subjected to racism during the 2012-13 campaign.
Both Constant and Balotelli decided to leave the pitch after their respective incidents, but Inzaghi feels it would be better not to give the guilty parties any attention, unless things get out of hand.
"Racism at the stadium should be ignored, it is not right that this minority are given so much attention," Inzaghi told the official Milan website.
"It can happen that the referees don’t hear the insults. However, if it involves a whole section of a stadium then it is correct the referee stops the match, just like [Gianluca] Rocchi did during Milan-Roma."
Milan CEO Adriano Galliani criticised Constant's decision to walk off this week as he felt the Guinea international should have warned the referee instead.
