Sunderland - Manchester City Betting Preview: Why Dzeko should fire the Blues to victory

With Dzeko having scored last time out for City, Phil Kitromilides is backing the striker to get on the score sheet again as they compete in the final of the Asia Trophy
Sunderland and Manchester City are due to clash for the first time in the Premier League this season in November, but before that meeting on Wearside the teams meet in the stifling humidity of Hong Kong in the Asia Trophy final.

Having reinforced their already staggering squad with nearly £100 million worth of talent, City are understandably massive favorites against the Black Cats, and William Hill price them at 4/9 (1.44) for the win.

Paolo Di Canio's men meanwhile who showed resolve and efficiency in their 3-1 triumph over Spurs on Wednesday are offered at 9/2 (5.50) with the draw available at 3/1 (4.00).
Though it may just be a friendly, played many thousands of miles from their accustomed environment, it is worth remembering that Sunderland have proved to be City's bogey team in recent season.

Indeed the Blues have managed just two win from their previous seven encounters with the Wearsiders, and while that is not to negate the chances of a City win, it does mean that perhaps some  higher odds should be sought for smaller stakes.

Therefore more appealing than backing City outright is investing in them to win and Edin Dzeko scoring at anytime which is offered at 5/4 (2.25)

The Bosnian striker scored the winner against South China in their previous match and looks likely to get some game time against Sunderland.

While punters might be naturally cautious about investing in a friendly fixture in such different surroundings, this looks to be a solid selection for a small to medium sized bet.
