Kovacic wary of Roma quality

The midfield starlet identifies Francesco Totti, Miralem Pjanic and Daniele De Rossi as the Giallorossi dangermen, while Jonathan claims he is relieved not to be facing Maicon
Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic believes Roma boast the quality to cause his side serious problems when they meet on Saturday.

The Giallorossi currently sit top of the Serie A standings after six games, four points ahead of Walter Mazzarri's men in fourth, and the Croat admits the likes of Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi are major concerns for the Nerazzurri.

"I can see an open game," the 19-year-old told Inter Channel. "Roma play good football, they have so many great players, from Totti and [Miralem] Pjanic through to De Rossi.

"I want to win, they are first and we're fourth. We'll see what happens."

Kovavic also spoke highly of young defender Tin Jedvaj, who is yet to make an appearance for Roma following his summer move from Dinamo Zagreb.

"He's a friend of mine, and he's very strong," added Kovacic. "I don't know if he will play tomorrow, but I can assure you he is very strong."

Meanwhile, Inter defender Jonathan believes his side are fortunate that Maicon has been ruled out of action with a thigh injury, and claims the comparisons between himself and the Brazil veteran when he first came to Italy were tough to live up to.

"When I came to Italy, journalists said to me every day 'You are the heir to Maicon, you play as Maicon'. I was surrounded. The truth is we are two different players," he remarked to Libero.

"Maicon is the strongest defender in the world. He has strength, technique. I'm sorry he is not there, but it's much better for us that way.

"They have a solid defence. It will be a solid test for us, but also for them. It's the most difficult game for both [so far this season]. Totti is a champion, a symbol, a key player."
