Manchester United - Crystal Palace Betting Preview

After defeat to Liverpool, the champions of England will be looking to get back to winning ways and Hugh Wilson is backing United's main man to fire on Saturday afternoon
Manchester United host Crystal Palace in the early Premier League kick off this Saturday with only one point separating the two sides after three matches. Liverpool are the early pace setters in the league this season, with United already playing catch up after a difficult start.

United come into this match after losing their last match against the Reds in the league before the international break. David Moyes' reign had started well at Swansea in August though, with United coming away from Wales with a 4-1 victory.

Chelsea then came to Old Trafford, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw. This is a good opportunity for Moyes to get his first victory in front of the Old Trafford crowd against a side expected to struggle against relegation thi season. BetVictor price them at just 2/9 (1.22) to take all three points.

Crystal Palace have had a mixed start to the season after gaining promotion back in May.

Ian Holloway's side picked up their first victory this season just before the international break with a 3-1 win over a poor Sunderland side.

This followed three losses, to Tottenham Hotspur, Bristol City and Stoke City. This is a huge test for Palace this weekend, with BetVictor pricing them at 14/1 (15.00) to cause an upset. The same firm price the draw at 6/1 (7.00).

Despite not getting any sort of winning form together, Manchester United have looked more certain in defence compared to moments last season.

They kept clean sheets against Wigan and Chelsea, conceding two goals in their other matches. Moyes will be keen to get a win at Old Trafford and to win it in style, so backing United to win to nil at 39/40 (1.98) is certainly worth backing.

For those looking for more value, backing Manchester United's main man Robin Van Persie to net a twice or more is worth a small investment.

The Netherlands international netted two midweek for his country, which followed up another goal for his country on Friday.

Van Persie has already scored two in one game against Swansea on the opening day, and backing him to do the same against Palace at 2/1 (3.00) with BetVictor is worth backing on a smaller scale.
