Hamburg move for Arsenal outcast Bendtner

The 25-year-old Denmark striker has again been offered the chance to move to the Bundesliga, after turning down a move to Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this summer

Hamburg have lodged a €3 million bid with Arsenal for out-of-favour forward Nicklas Bendtner.

The Bundesliga outfit are keen to hold talks with the Danish forward, who has long been surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium and has been told he can find a new club.

However,Bendtner is only willing to leave Arsenal for a club who will match or exceed his current €58,000-a-week wage.

The 25-year-old has already rejected offers from five different clubs this summer, including Malaga and Frankfurt, after failing to agree personal terms.

Bendtner, whose Arsenal contract runs until 2015, is no longer part of Arsene Wenger’s plans and has been completely frozen out by the manager.

However, the Gunners have had difficulty selling him over the last two years following unproductive season-long loans at Sunderland and Juventus.

Arsenal would prefer to sell Bendtner rather than loan him out again and have placed a €3m valuation on the player.

Hamburg have already taken Gunners defender Johan Djourou on loan this summer, though he has not yet played for the club.
